Design & Grow 🌱 | Newsletter Rebrand

Hi Reader 👋,

You may notice things look a little different. As fwd design co continues to evolve, I'm eager to share some important changes to how we'll be communicating with you going forward.

Introducing Our New Newsletter Structure

fwd design co newsletter (what you’re reading now) is evolving into a monthly studio update focused on our work as a strategic design consultancy. You’ll get insights into our approach, client projects, industry perspectives, and company news—all centered on how we’re helping organizations solve complex digital challenges.

Each month, you’ll receive:

  • Updates on our latest studio projects and case studies
  • Behind-the-scenes of our strategic design process
  • Industry insights from our perspective as practitioners
  • News about our services, growth, and company developments

A New Community for Designers & Creatives

For those looking for more personal insights, I’ve created something special.

Design & Grow Collective is my personal newsletter—a more casual, free-flowing space where I’ll share weekly musings, behind-the-scenes insights, and honest reflections on building a design business. It’s a look at how I’m exploring the intersection of design and entrepreneurship with the hope of connecting with fellow designers and creatives building their own path forward.

This separation allows me to:

  1. Share studio updates and professional work through an official company channel
  2. Express more personal, in-the-moment insights without the constraints of a formal business publication
  3. Create two distinct spaces—one for the studio’s voice and another for my personal creative community

What this Means for You

If you're interested in following fwd design co's work, projects and evolution as a strategic design studio, you're in the right place with this newsletter.

If you're looking for a more personal connection, casual insights, and authentic look at my entrepreneurial design journey, I'd love to have you join the Design & Grow Collective. It's where I'll share my unfiltered thoughts, experiments, and the real ups and downs of building a design business.

I'm excited about this new chapter and the opportunity to provide even more value to both our business partners and the design community.

Until next month,

Hi Reader 👋, Last week, I built a website that intentionally breaks fundamental design principles. The result? A deliberately chaotic interface that rejects hierarchy, proximity, contrast, and structure. This experiment specifically challenged Gestalt principles – the fundamental laws that describe how our brains organize visual information. These principles (like proximity, similarity, and continuity) have shaped design for decades because they reflect how we naturally process information....

Hi Reader 👋, This week's newsletter is a break from typical content. Instead of writing a "thought piece" or "design insights", I'm plugging my services. :) I'm opening a limited number of project partnerships for March 2025, and I wanted my newsletter community to hear about it first. What You Get: A strategic design partner who combines MBA-level analysis with hands-on UX expertise Digital experiences that work seamlessly across every screen Results-driven success focused on measurable...

Hi Reader 👋, This week’s newsletter is about practicing empathy in design. Why? Because the world could use a bit more empathy. Empathy shapes design by helping us see beyond surface needs to create meaningful solutions. When we understand our users’ real challenges and goals, we build products that truly serve them. Good design solves problems. Empathetic design prevents them. Understanding user contexts early leads to natural solutions that drive engagement and loyalty - not through more...
